Brewed, Libertarian Party of Kentucky to put on photos with Santa
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A coffee shop in Lexington has teamed up with the Libertarian Party of Kentucky to put on a photos with Santa event, following an order to close for violations of the state’s coronavirus-related mandate against in-person dining at bars and restaurants.
Brewed is now open as an events venue, after an emergency injunction to close last week.
Brewed’s owner Andrew Cooperrider shared a post on Facebook Monday morning that reads in part, “The Judge has handed down the order to not serve food or drink. I have not done so. However, the Governor is starting to take this personal. Apparently the fact he wrote a mandate that allows event venues to operate by different rules is somehow my fault. The state is now trying to get involved in our case and ask the Judge to hold me in contempt.”
The event description reads in part, “Santa will be on the patio ready to spread some joy. Receive a framed 4×6 photo of your Santa portrait, a digital copy sent via email, and a gift bag per family. The Price is $20 per portrait and you can have as many people and/or pets in the photo as you please.”
The event also says all proceeds from the event will go to the Libertarian Party.
