CORONAVIRUS EXPOSURE: Four Leslie County churches seeing multiple positive cases

LESLIE COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- The Kentucky River District Health Department says there have been multiple positive coronavirus cases associated with four Leslie County churches.

The churches are the Full Gospel Church in Smilax, Couch’s Fork Church of God, New Life Pentecostal in Wooton, and City of Light Worship Center in Wooton.

“We greatly appreciate the cooperation we have received from each of the pastors of these churches and their desire to protect the health and well being of their congregations,” the department says.

It says if you attended services at those churches in the past week you may have been exposed. You should monitor yourself for symptoms including fever, coughing, shortness of breath, changes in the sensation of taste or smell, and/or gastro-intestinal upset.

If you have those symptoms, the health department recommends you call your doctor and get tested.

It says all churches have agreed to suspend services in-person for at least two weeks.
