More than 100 Lincoln County students quarantined
LINCOLN COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) — More than 100 students are quarantined districtwide in Lincoln County and two high school staff members have tested positive for COVID-19.
The district says not all of those students are quarantined because of the staff members testing positive. Some were isolating before the district returned to in-person instruction last Monday, but some of those students are directly related to the high school’s cases.
The district’s communications coordinator Brad Smith says their latest update shows 114 students are quarantined.
“The Lincoln County Health Department gives guidance on who has to quarantine. We do expect this to be the new norm. The virus is not going away and we will have positive cases and have to quarantine. We have done a great job as a district so far and have had very few cases since the pandemic started in March,” says Smith.
