TODAY: Emergency siren test at 10 a.m.
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington residents who hear a siren this morning should not be alarmed. Lexington Emergency Mangement says it will test its outdoor warning siren system at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
The test was supposed to happen last week but was postponed due to severe weather.
According to emergency officials, if you live near a park or golf course, expect to hear the outdoor siren sound, a series of chimes, followed by a voice announcement “This is a test.”
Emergency officials say you should not call 911 if you hear the siren at 10 a.m.
