UPDATE: Road reopened after serious motorcycle crash
UPDATE, 9:15 a.m. Wednesday: Georgetown Road is now reopened.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police have shut down a portion of Georgetown Road after a serious crash involving a motorcycle and a car.
It happened just before 7 a.m. Wednesday. Police say a man was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. After the crash, the cycle ended up in the middle of Georgetown Road.
The driver of the car apparently was not injured.
Police have the roadway blocked at Spurr Road for outbound traffic. Inbound traffic is being diverted as well, at Iron Works Pike and Berea Road. The area will be closed until further notice.
Police say the crash reconstruction unit is on scene.
