Man accused of being under the influence in court

LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Deputies didn’t have to go far to make a public intoxication arrest in Laurel County because it happened in a courtroom in the judicial center.

Investigators say 30-year old Adam Lovitt, of London, was charged with public intoxication-controlled substances on Tuesday afternoon.

Deputies say Lovitt was taken from the courtroom to the jail where he eventually will make a return trip on this new charge.

Investigators didn’t say why Lovitt was in court in the first place.
