KSP Posts 11, 9 in London, Pikeville get new commanders

LONDON/PIKEVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police Post 11 based in London and Post 9 in Pikeville have new post commanders.

Captain Scott Felder has been named to lead the unit.

Felder is a 15- year-veteran of the Kentucky State Police. He is no stranger to Post 11. He was assigned to the London Post as a lieutenant over criminal investigations back in 2015.

Post 11 covers seven counties — Clay, Laurel, McCreary, Pulaski, Rockcastle, Wayne, and Whitley.

Capt. Randy Surber

The Kentucky State Police Post 9 in Pikeville welcomes Capt Randy Surber as the new commander.

Surber, a 17- year Kentucky State Police veteran, began his career with KSP in 2003 as a member of Cadet Class 81.

In 2010, he was promoted to Sergeant and served at the Elizabethtown Post, Ashland Post, Pikeville Post, and Hazard Post. In 2014, he was promoted to Lieutenant and was assigned to the Harlan Post as the Criminal Investigations Lieutenant.

In 2018, he was promoted to Captain and was assigned to the Ashland Post.

Surber is excited to join the Pikeville Post Area community and looks forward to this new challenge.
