UPDATE: Second of two Knox County escapees back in jail

BARBOURVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – Life on the run is over for the second of two escapees from the Knox County Jail.

The jail says Cody Abner was taken back into custody on Saturday.  No other details surrounding his capture were released.

The other escapee, Chester Witt, was back behind bars just three days after the escape, which happened June 25, 2020.

The jail says Abner was in jail on drug and other charges and Witt was in after being accused of assaulting a police officer and fleeing.

Both Knox County natives now face an additional escape charge, according to the jail.
