University of Kentucky releases K Week information

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The University of Kentucky is welcoming students back to campus during K Week Aug. 13-16 with some changes due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

University of Kentucky President Eli Capilouto shared a video message on the university’s page saying in part, “Hundreds of people on our campus have been preparing for months for your arrival. They’ve been thinking about your success and the community that we will build together.”

According to UK officials, there are a few key events for all new students, including the New Student Induction Ceremony, K Team gatherings, and college meetings.

University officials say they plan to offer in-person and virtual options. Students are asked to have their Event Pass ready. University officials say all new undergraduate students, including freshmen and transfers, are expected to participate in K Week.

Event Pass

University officials say an Event Pass is a unique QR code that allows students to check in at UK events. K Crew leaders will use their phone to scan it to mark your attendance.

The Event Pass also allows students to take advantage of free t-shirts and other giveaways and is used outside K Week as a “ticket” to attend events put on by student organizations.

Students can find their Event Pass HERE and can log in using their LinkBlue ID and password.
