Man wrecks stolen bike, charged with meth trafficking

BOYLE COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A man who wrecked what turned out to be a stolen

motorcycle is charged with trafficking in methamphetamine.

According to the Boyle County Sheriff’s Department, 55-year-old Gregory Smith, of Nicholasville, was charged late Tuesday night when Deputy Braydon Hopper and K9 Deputy Tanner Abbott responded to a motorcycle accident at the intersection of Knob Lick and White Oak in Junction.

The deputies found Smith After further investigation it was found Smith had two pending arrest warrants. A further search recovered about six grams of methamphetamine and $1,500 in cash, the department said.

The motorcycle also was stolen. The deputies also confiscated a 9 mm Glock and charged Smith with felon in possession of a weapon, according to the department.
