Louisville man nabbed after three-county chase
BARREN COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A 48-year-old Louisville man faces multiple charges following a high-speed case through three counties on I-65 Thursday night.
According to the Kentucky State Police, Justin Jay Halcomb finally was stopped northbound near the Bluegrass Parkway exit.
The chase started when a Trooper Bo Hubbard spotted a Dodge Ram pickup speeding northbound at mile-marker 53 at about 11:50 p.m. Thursday.
When Hubbard tried to make a traffic stop, the driver, later identified as Halcomb, sped off, fleeing 40 miles through Hart, Larue and Hardin counties before troopers could get him stopped.
Halcomb who remained in the Barren County Detention Center Friday afternoon, faces nine charges ranging from reckless driving and resisting arrest to speeding, wanton endangerment DUI, and criminal mischief.
