Downtown Lexington shooting leaves victim in critical condition

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A man is in critical condition after a shooting near the University of Kentucky.

Lexington police say they heard shots fired around 2 a.m. Sunday near the corner of Jersey and Winslow streets.

According to police, officers arrived on the scene and were unable to locate a victim nor any suspects, all they found were shell casings.

Not long after, police say, a victim of the shooting arrived at a nearby hospital with a gunshot wound and life-threatening injuries.

Lexington police say there are no suspects in custody at this time.
