Monticello police arrest two people in connection to drug trafficking

MONTICELLO, Ky. (WTVQ) – Monticello Police arrested Barney “BJ” Warner, 34, and Savanna Sullivan, 22, both of Russell Springs for drugs charges.

Warner and Sullivan are charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, over two grams of meth.

Monticello Police Department executed a search warrant at 8 a.m. Sunday at the Best Western/Lake Cumberland Inn on KY 90 East.

Police say they discovered and seized approximately 1 ½ pounds of crystal methamphetamine with a street value of more than $50,000, approximately 8 grams of suspected cocaine, numerous items of drug paraphernalia, $5,170 cash, a handgun and a pickup truck.  

Warner and Sullivan were processed and lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center. 

The Monticello Police Department says the investigation is ongoing and additional charges are expected.
