Two Scott County fires under investigation

SCOTT COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) — Investigations are underway after two separate fires Monday in Scott County.

The first one was at an apartment on West Lynn Street around 8 a.m.

Georgetown Fire says it started in one unit on the second floor.

The fire department says no one was home at the time and there were no injuries.

Investigators determined it was accidental and electrical in nature.

The second fire was at a vacant home on Yarnallton Pike.

The Scott County Fire Department says a neighbor called the fire in just before noon.

Firefighters say the house had just recently been vacated.

There were no injuries but there’s heavy smoke damage to the whole building.

The fire department says the cause is still under investigation.
