Damaged semi truck dumps load of limes along Campbell County highway

NEWPORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – Officials say a damaged semi truck that was hauling limes spilled its load along a highway in Campbell County Tuesday.

Kentucky State Police say a call came at 5:43 a.m. about a semi truck that was losing its load of limes while going south on I-471.

Troopers say the driver, 47-year-old Douglas Keeney, of Springfield, Ohio, left a 14-mile trail of dehydrated limes.

The road was closed for several hours while crews cleaned up the mess.
