CAC needs Christmas decor after mistakenly thrown out

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — The Catholic Action Center is asking for your help and it isn’t looking for the typical donation.

The organization says it needs Christmas decorations as it prepares for its 24th annual Faith and Community Christmas Store.

The center says decorations it has collected over the last 24 years including fixtures, Christmas trees, lights, Santa, a nativity set, were accidentally thrown out.

The center’s director, Ginny Ramsey, says it’s important to create a wonderful Christmas setting for those in need to shop for their children and to feel the joy of the season.

The center says 18,000 children will get gifts through the store this year.

“Stuff is stuff and normally we deal with so much and ya know, we’re worried about people we’re not worried about things. The thing that is hurtful with this is that we had some very special people who had made some of these,” says Ginny Ramsey.

In addition to Christmas decorations, CAC is also asking for toys, games and gifts for the store.

Donations need to be dropped off by December 13th at the Southland Christian Church on Richmond Road.
