Salute Seniors Who Serve Others
Home Instead Senior Care is searching Kentucky and the United States for outstanding senior volunteers to be nominated for their Salute To Senior Service awards.
The award will be given to one senior in each state who volunteers their time to improve their community.
Each state’s winner will receive $500 to donate to the charity of their choice. A national winner will be chosen, as well, and will receive $5,000 for their charity.
Home Instead’s website claims that older adults who volunteer feel a greater sense of purpose and well-being. They say senior volunteers can also experience health benefits simply by getting involved.
