Lexington Recycle Center remains closed
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington’s Recycle Center will remain closed while it continues to work on an equipment issue.
The center announced last week that a machine that separates aluminum cans from other recyclables malfunctioned and that a part needed to be ordered.
The part arrived on Monday and was installed but the center says the machine is still not working properly.
According to the center, people can still put out recyclables for collection. The recyclables collected, however, will be sent to the landfill since the center can’t process materials at this time.
Lexington’s recycle center accepts: dry cardboard, aluminum and steel cans, plastic bottles and jugs with a screwtop neck, glass bottles and jars.
