Tates Creek Wins Another Late-Inning Thriller; Beats Somerset, 6-2

LEXINGTON, KY (WTVQ) – Tates Creek scored four runs in the seventh, all with two outs, to beat Somerset Saturday night, 6-2.

The Commodores opened the game strong, recording seven hits in the first three innings. However, they only had one run to show for it.

That allowed Somerset to find its footing. The Briar Jumpers capitalized in the fourth, scoring two runs to take the lead. That came after a controversial foul ball call on Camden Ryan’s would-be two run homer run.

Tates Creek would eventually tie it back up and score the go-ahead runs late.

With the win, the Commodores move onto the Quarterfinals. They’ll take on Pleasure Ridge Park Wednesday night at 9. That game will be played at Whitaker Bank Ballpark.
