Former MSU employee accused of stealing thousands from university
MOREHEAD, Ky. (WTVQ) – A former Morehead State University employee is accused of stealing more than 167-thousand dollars from the University.
According to an indictment, 51-year-old Sherri Ward made the fraudulent purchases using a university credit card between December 2017 and July of 2019.
Ward was an academic specialist with the Department of Art and Design.
The indictment says Ward also used a rubber stamp to forge the signature of a university professor, to request transfer of funds from the Morehead State University foundation.
Those transfers ranged from just under $500 to more than 11-thousand dollars over an 18-month period.
A Rowan County grand jury indicted Ward last week.
