Lexington man accused of trying to meet child for sex

LINCOLN COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Lexington man is in a Lincoln County jail after investigators say he drove there to meet a 12-year-old girl for sex.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office says 58-year-old John Ault messaged the 12-year-old, saying he wanted to meet her behind a store in Moreland.

The girl’s father found the messages and contacted the sheriff’s office.

Investigators say an undercover deputy was there to arrest Ault when he showed up at the store.

Ault was charged with prohibited use of an electronic communication system to procure a minor for a sex offense.
