Tates Creek Wins 11th Region Title; Beats Lafayette, 7-1

LEXINGTON, KY (WTVQ)- For the first time in six years, Tates Creek will playing in the Kentucky State Baseball Tournament. The Commodores beat Lafayette Wednesday, 7-1, to capture the 11th Region Title.

The Commodores got off to a great start. Eli Tencza’s RBI single in the first gave the Commodores the early 1-0 lead.

Lafayette would tie the game back up in the third, but Tates Creek would draw four-straight walks in the fourth inning to regain the lead.

In the sixth, the Commodore bats helped shut the door, scoring five runs en route to a 7-1 win.

Tates Creek will play at Kentucky Proud Park Saturday. They’ll face Somerset.
