Free Event Promises To Inspire Fitness
A free event this Saturday at the Charles Young Community Center hopes to inspire people to get off the couch and get fit.
"Fabulously Fit" was organized by Shuntella Whitfield, a local woman who credits her own weight loss success story to mixing up her routine and making sure her workouts were fun.
The event takes place from 10 am to noon on Saturday, January 11 at the Charles Young Community Center, located at 540 East Third Street in Lexington.
Those in attendance can try out different fitness activities like tai chi, Zumba, aerobics, "DAFRI", and boot camp-style classes.
There will also be fitness booths and information and guest speaker Neil Burns of Richmond who lost over 400 pounds and now works as a personal trainer and motivational speaker.
Organizers encourage folks to come out, bring a towel, and get ready to sweat.
