Mayor Gorton to host Neighborhood Summit in Lexington
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Mayor Linda Gorton will hold her first Neighborhood Summit with community members on issues affecting their neighborhoods on June 1st from 8:30 AM to Noon at the Lexington Senior Center.
This is the first citywide neighborhood-focused summit in nearly a decade. “Neighborhoods are critical to quality of life for our citizens,” Gorton said. “I want to encourage neighborhood engagement and leadership. This summit is an opportunity for neighbors to get a better understanding of local government, the challenges neighborhoods face, and the resources available to them.”
The Mayor’s Neighborhood Summit will include four breakout session topics;
- Public Safety
- Opioids
- Community and Neighborhood Engagement
- Local Government Basics
