Woman accused of deadly DUI crash in court; Victim’s family frustrated

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A woman accused of causing a deadly wrong way DUI crash will have a psychiatric evaluation before the case moves forward.

During the hearing, the judge ordered a 30 day continuance to allow time for a psych evaluation for Tammy Rodriguez.

Rodriguez entered the court room in a wheelchair after being injured in the accident.

She is charged with murder for last month’s crash on I-75 near the southern split that killed three people.

Police say Rodriguez was driving drunk and running from police when she drove her truck the wrong and hit two other vehicles.

26 year old Taylor Blevins and her sister, 20 year old Caitlyn Bailey were killed in the crash.

Rodriguez’s sister Debbie Lynn Bevins was a passenger in her truck and was also killed.

Blevins and Bailey’s family are frustrated by Tuesday’s development and they want closure.

“It makes me sick. I feel physically sick that they’re making this go on another time. I’m worried that she’s going to get away with murdering my kids,” said Christy Bailey, Mother.

The family plans to be at every court appearance.

Rodriguez is due back in court on November 5.
