Man accused in 2017 shooting in Lexington arrested again

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Lexington man charged with a 2017 shooting has been arrested again. This time, police accuse him of shooting at his ex-girlfriend.

Police say 26-year-old Javonte Briscoe shot at his ex-girlfriend back on March 23 in the parking lot of the Swahili Elks Lodge on Versailles Road.

According to court documents, the victim told police she thought Briscoe shot at her because he was jealous she was out with another man.

Police say bullets hit her car but she was not injured.

Briscoe was arrested Thursday and charged with wanton endangerment.

Last year, Briscoe was arrested in connection to the shooting of another man.

The victim’s injuries were not life threatening.
