Natural gas leak reported at Blue Grass Army Depot
RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Blue Grass Army Depot says a natural gas leak forced some employees to temporarily shelter in place Thursday morning.
The depot says a gas line was hit during construction at the main gate. No munitions were involved and there was never a danger or risk to nearby Madison County residents, according to the depot.
The main entrance to the depot was closed and employees in the administrative area were told to shelter in place as a precaution.
The depot says all gates are back open and employees have been cleared to return to their offices.
Repairs to the gas line are expected to be completed by 4:00 p.m.
