UPDATE: UK no longer diverting patients following computer issue

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – UK HealthCare stopped diverting patients brought by ambulance to UK Hospital, Kentucky Children’s Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospital shortly after 9:00 p.m. on Monday, according to a release from the school.

After a routine software update in the morning, UK HealthCare could no longer electronically register patients being brought to its three hospitals in Lexington, according to UK HealthCare.

As a precaution, UK HealthCare temporarily diverted some patients arriving by ambulance to other facilities.  This did not include patients needing to be transferred to UK for trauma, pediatrics, high-risk obstetrics and burn care, according to UK HealthCare.
