LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Laurel County woman was found guilty Wednesday of pouring gasoline on her husband and setting him on fire during an argument, according to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators say 42-year old Vera Wooton, of Corbin, was found guilty of Assault 1st Degree by a Laurel Circuit Court jury.  The sheriff’s office says she received a 10-year sentence.

Investigators say John Wooton was burned over 50-percent of his body on August 7, 2017.  He had to be airlifted to Cincinnati’s Burn Center due to the severity of his injuries.
