Downtown Business Owners Ready For CentrePointe

The site of the planned CentrePointe development has been blocked off, making it appear construction may finally begin.

The developers say CentrePointe will include a Marriott Hotel, commercial space, 16 condominiums, and more than 90 apartments.

With some traffic lane closures and some street parking being blocked off nearby, some business owners are afraid their business could be negatively affected in the short-term as people avoid the construction area.

Most owners are looking ahead, hopeful that the project will bring more people downtown.

Elizabeth Reach’s restaurant, Limestone Blue, is less than two blocks from where CentrePointe will stand.

Reach is glad the project also includes an underground parking garage.

CentrePointe is scheduled to be finished in the summer of 2015.
