North Lime Coffee and Donuts opens new, rent-able kitchen

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – North Lime Coffee and Donuts announced Thursday it is opening the doors to its back building space, a commercial grade kitchen.

One of North Lime’s owners, Joe Ross said it’s like Airbnb, but for kitchen space.

He also said the space is Health Department approved.

Ross said it can be rented for an hour, or even weeks, but the key is he wants to keep the pricing of the commissary kitchen affordable.

Looking back seven years ago when North Lime was just getting started, Ross said the landlord of the building kindly offered lower rent until North Lime could manage paying the full price.

Now, Ross said they’re paying it forward.

“There’s been an explosion I think in the last 10, 15 years of this great local food scene and we just wanted to be apart of that and help grow that, because we were given that opportunity,” he said.

He said pricing for the space varies based on length of time.
