UPDATE: Golden Alert canceled for disabled Laurel County man

The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office says Joseph Benge was found safe Thursday morning.

No further details were given.

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – For the second time in six months, the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office has issued a Golden Alert for a disabled man.

The sheriff says 39-year-old Joseph Benge was last seen off Tom Cat Trail five miles east of London around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Benge has mental disabilities, according to the sheriff.

A Golden Alert was issued for Benge back in October after he went hunting in the same area and did not return.

He was found two days later.
