Police: Drugs found next to child during traffic stop

LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A purse filled with drugs was found next to a child in a car seat during a traffic stop, according to London Police.

Investigators say Sunday evening officers found pills and a large amount of methamphetamine during the search of the vehicle after pulling over the driver on North Main Street.

According to investigators, 28-year old Hank R. Vaughn Jr. and 27-year old Megan L. Rethmeyer were arrested and taken into custody.

Police say Vaughn was charged with possession of a controlled substance and having a controlled substance not in its original container.

Rethmeyer was charged with trafficking a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, and endangering the welfare of a minor, according to police.
