Police Investigating Shooting in Downtown Georgetown

Georgetown Police are investigating a shooting in the 100 block of North Hamilton Street. 

Police say they responded, at around 10:30 Wednesday night, to reports of shots fired. 

A female victim was taken to UK Hospital, according to police. Her condition was not immediately known to officials on the scene. 

Police say they originally set up a perimeter when they arrived on scene, searching for a suspect. The search was canceled a short time later. 

Police had a portion of the North Hamilton Street blocked with Police Line tape. A small silver SUV parked on the block was also wrapped with police tape. 

Police tell ABC 36 that they will release information later Thursday morning.
