KY among states getting HUD funds for those living with HIV/AIDS

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky is among the states getting money from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for persons living with HIV/AIDS.

The department says the $25 million will be used to help more than 2,054 low-income persons living with HIV/AIDS and their families over a three-year period.

According to HUD, the Kentucky Housing Corporation will receive $431,467 through the program.

The funding is offered through HUD’s Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS Program and will renew HUD’s support of 25 local programs. These grants provide a combination of housing assistance and supportive services for this vulnerable population.
