Harrodsburg firefighters stop blaze at Whitaker Bank on South College Street

UPDATE: June 18 at 2 p.m.

Harrodsburg City Fire responded Thursday to a working structure fire at Whitaker Bank on South College Street. The Mercer County Fire District detailed that first units on the scene reported a heavy fire load on the front of the building.

Harrodsburg City Fire requested mutual aid from Burgin City Fire for additional apparatus and manpower.

Fire crews made a quick and effective attack on the fire, stopping it from spreading to the main part of the building.

Mercer County Fire was also dispatched to Station 5 to provide coverage for Harrodsburg City Fire within the city.

(ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – The Harrodsburg Police Department says that College Street in front of Whitaker Bank is closed due to a working structure fire on Thursday.

According to police, emergency personnel are on the scene, and drivers should avoid the area.
