Several dogs stolen in Greenup County since Saturday

GREENUP, Ky. (WTVQ) – Greenup County Animal Control is asking for the public’s help in finding the person believed to be behind at least three dog thefts since March 16.

Investigators say a man in a truck, with a make-shift kennel, is picking up the dogs in rural areas.

Authorities say two large dogs and one small dog have been taken so far, all mixed breeds.

Greenup County Animal Control is encouraging owners to consider keeping their dogs inside or keeping an eye on them if they live outside.  They are also encouraging owners to place a locating chip and code inside their dog, which can be done by most veterinarians.

Anyone who sees suspicious activity is encouraged to call 911.
