KSP: North Carolina fugitive arrested in Kentucky
CORBIN, Ky. (WTVQ) – A traffic stop in Laurel County leads to the arrest of a fugitive wanted out of North Carolina.
An officer with Kentucky State Police Vehicle Enforcement spotted a car driving recklessly on US 25 E near the Knox/Laurel County line on Thursday around 11:46 a.m.
The officer stopped the car and learned the driver, 40-year-old Michael Brandon Holmes, was wanted in North Carolina on charges of assault with a deadly weapon and larceny of motor vehicles.
State Police say the car Holmes was in was reported stolen by the Middlesboro Police Department.
Holmes was arrested and taken to the Laurel County Detention Center.
