4 people, including suspect, dead following Monday morning shooting, police standoff in Adair County

ADAIR COUNTY, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) –

The suspect wanted in connection to the death of three others and three potentially connected crimes scenes is now dead, according to Laker Country 104.9 WJRS.
“Update on Adair County situation: reports in that the suspect is deceased,” the station wrote on social media. “Kentucky State Police now searching the house for explosives. Suspect had reportedly claimed to have explosives earlier in the day.”

As a suspect remains barricaded in a home on Chestnut Grove Road, Sheriff Gary Roy confirmed that three people are confirmed dead across three potentially connected crime scenes across the county.
According to Roy, authorities first responded to the home Monday morning for reports of a shooting with a victim. When they arrived, deputies took on gunfire and the suspect barricaded himself inside. No deputies were injured in the gunfire, and the scene is now secure.
That shooting victim is not confirmed to be inside the residence and has not been located.
Roy said that in addition to the two other potentially connected crime scenes, the suspect in the home also shot down a drone.

One person is dead and a suspect remains barricaded in an Adair County home following a shooting on Monday afternoon.
According to Kentucky State Police, the scene on Chestnut Grove Road remains active and the roadway will be shut down for an unknown amount of time.
