Jasper Johnson and Brandon Garrison intend to enter transfer portal

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 News Now) – Kentucky Wildcats men’s basketball is now up to three outgoing transfers, as Jasper Johnson and Brandon Garrison have announced their intentions to enter the transfer portal this upcoming week.

Johnson and Garrison become the second and third Wildcats to enter the portal, following Jaland Lowe, who made his decision last weekend.

Johnson, a native of Versailles, Kentucky, was a top-25 recruit out of high school and Kentucky’s top recruit in the class of 2025. As a freshman during the 2025–26 season, he averaged 4.9 points, 1.1 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game.

Garrison was one of the few players to remain with the program through both of head coach Mark Pope’s first two seasons. As a junior, he averaged 4.7 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.0 blocks per game in 2025–26.

In total, Kentucky is set to lose at least three players to the transfer portal: Lowe, Johnson, and Garrison. The Wildcats will also lose several contributors to graduation, including Otega Oweh (19.6 PPG), Denzel Aberdeen (13.5 PPG), Zach Tow (0.6 PPG), and Walker Horn (0.3 PPG).

The program is still awaiting decisions from several players regarding their futures, including Collin Chandler (9.7 PPG), Mouhamed Dioubate (8.8 PPG), Malachi Moreno (7.8 PPG), Kam Williams (6.0 PPG), Andrija Jelavic (5.5 PPG), Jayden Quaintance (5.0 PPG) , and Trent Noah (3.0 PPG).
