Suspect killed in officer-involved shooting in Powell Co.

CLAY CITY, Ky. (WTVQ)- State police say they are investigating an officer-involved shooting that killed a man Tuesday night in Powell County.

Troopers say the shooting happened on Ashley Hollow Road in Clay City.

KSP says Clay City Police were looking for a man who led them on a pursuit earlier in the day, when an off-duty Powell County sheriff’s deputy found the man they were looking for.

Troopers say that after a brief struggle, the deputy shot and killed the man.

The man’s name has not been released.

State police are still investigating.
