Worker puts out fire at Lexington bar

Lexington, Ky. (WTVQ)- Lexington firefighters say a worker at McCarthy’s Irish Bar put out a fire early Friday morning.

The fire department says they were called to the bar just after 3 a.m. for a fire on the back patio.

The department says a worker put the fire out using an extinguisher. The bar was closed at the time and no customers were inside.

Firefighters say the cause of the fire was an air conditioning unit that had malfunctioned.

The fire is no longer under investigation.
