Lexington Police return baby lovebird stolen from pet store

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- A Lexington pet store says police officers have returned a baby lovebird stolen from the store on June 24th.

Surveillance video captured a man putting the baby bird in his pocket then leaving the store.

According to the store, before stealing the lovebird, the man bought a parakeet but used a fake name, address and phone number.

Lexington Police say the man seen on surveillance video has been cited for shoplifting.
