Lexington Fire Department responds to working structure fire on Stratford Drive

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Crews with the Lexington Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire Thursday at a home on Stratford Drive.

According to Battalion Chief Derek Roberts, firefighters were dispatched to 569 Stratford Drive and arrived to find smoke and flames visible from the structure. The fire was upgraded to a working fire shortly after crews arrived.

Officials say firefighters shifted to a defensive strategy while battling the flames.

Authorities reported light heat damage to the exterior of a nearby home, but no injuries were reported and no residents were displaced.

The scene remains active as crews continue to work.
