Jackson County man indicted after missing child investigation in Pulaski County
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office says a Jackson County man has been indicted following an investigation into a missing child report.
Officials say 47-year-old Michael Moon of Annville was identified during a March 11, 2025 investigation into a child reported missing from a home on East Brown Ridge Road in the Nancy area.
Investigators determined Moon had allegedly transported the child from Pulaski County to West Virginia.
According to the sheriff’s office, Moon was initially arrested and charged with custodial interference and possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor.
Federal authorities later adopted the child exploitation case. Officials say Moon pleaded guilty in federal court and received a 10-year prison sentence.
On March 4, a Pulaski County grand jury returned an indictment against Moon on the custodial interference charge.
Moon remains lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center on a $25,000 cash bond.
