Lexington officials warn of fake parking ticket text scam

LEXINGTON, KY. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Officials are warning Lexington residents about a scam involving fake parking ticket text messages.

According to LexPark, scammers are sending messages that falsely claim recipients have an outstanding parking citation.

Officials say the texts may appear legitimate and can include real citation numbers along with a phone number asking people to call and arrange payment.
