Ohio K-9 “Moby” jokingly accused of destroying squeak toy

LUCAS COUNTY, OHIO. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A K-9 deputy in Ohio is jokingly “under investigation” after being accused of destroying a toy.

“Moby,” a K-9 with the Lucas County Sheriff’s Office, is the top suspect in what deputies described as the “gruesome shredding” of a lamb squeak toy.

Officials said the lighthearted investigation quickly pointed to Moby as the likely culprit because there were “zero signs of forced entry.”

Deputies said the scene was “disturbing,” with stuffing scattered across the floor where the toy had been torn apart.

Authorities say they believe they have also determined the motive — the squeaky toy may have simply been too tempting for Moby to resist.
