Perry County man arrested after 16-mile police pursuit in Combs
PERRY COUNTY, KY. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A Perry County man is facing multiple charges after authorities say he led troopers on a pursuit Tuesday afternoon.
According to Kentucky State Police, troopers attempted to stop a red pickup truck in the Combs community for several traffic violations.
Investigators say the driver, 49-year-old Ance Collins of Krypton, refused to stop and led troopers on a pursuit lasting about 16 miles. During the chase, officials say Collins allegedly struck police cruisers several times.
Authorities say the pursuit ended on Briar Fork Road when the truck went into a ditch. Collins was taken into custody without further incident.
A passenger in the truck was taken to Appalachian Regional Healthcare Hazard ARH for treatment of minor injuries.
The investigation remains ongoing.
