Worker killed in accident involving power lines in Harlan County
HARLAN COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Authorities in Harlan County are investigating a deadly workplace accident involving power lines Tuesday morning.
According to the Harlan County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received a call around 10:19 a.m. reporting a work-related accident in the Holmes Mill community.
In a social media post, the sheriff’s office said a deputy responded to the scene along with the Cloverfork Fire Department and Lifeguard Ambulance Service. Kentucky Utilities also responded due to the nature of the accident involving power lines.
During the investigation, the Harlan County Coroner’s Office was called in. Deputy Coroner Gene Fisher responded and pronounced the worker dead at 12:37 p.m.
Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing.
