Four adults arrested after fight at elementary school

MARTIN COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Four adults have been arrested following a fight on the grounds of Warfield Elementary School in Martin County.

According to the Martin County Schools Police Department, officers responded to the altercation on campus. Authorities say an additional person is expected to face criminal charges as the investigation continues.

School officials say the campus was placed on a soft lockdown as a precaution while the situation was addressed.

Officials say the fight was quickly contained, and classes resumed once the school was determined to be secure.

District leaders praised staff for following established safety procedures and helping ensure student safety during the incident.

The investigation remains ongoing.
